From the idea to the swimming school

A new sports pool was addedStarting signal for the Baar swimming school.

The Baar swimming school was founded with the reopening of the Lättich indoor swimming pool and the new sports pool in 1996. Over the years it has developed further with over 30 part-time employees and is now one of the largest swimming schools in Central Switzerland.

With the reopening of the Lättich indoor swimming pool in 1996 and the sports pool that was created at that time, the Baar swimming school was founded.

Marian Ineichen and Ursula Christen worked as swimming instructors at the Lättich indoor swimming pool before it reopened in 1996. At that time, children's courses, crawl courses and water aerobics were offered.

The construction of the new sports pool sparked the idea of founding a swimming school. The municipality of Baar granted permission for the use of the pool for swimming lessons. Thus, nothing stood in the way of the Baar Swimming School's establishment. Doris Büttel later joined as director and now holds the position of head of the school. Today, the swimming school employs over 30 part-time staff members and is one of the largest swimming schools in Central Switzerland.

In the summer of 2010, Ursula Christen reached retirement age. Her daughter Petra Deschwanden took over as manager. 

Marian Ineichen also left us in the summer of 2016. Her son Roman Ineichen took over as manager.

Since spring 2023, Mara Zemp has strengthened the management team and is responsible for some of the administrative tasks.
